Solidarity and Accompaniment: A Reflection for the Third Sunday of Advent

Over the last several months I have gotten to know the Catholic Mobilizing Network team well. I have been impressed with their talent, passion, and commitment to Catholic social teaching. Based out of Washington D.C., CMN ably advocates for the twin goals of ending the death penalty and promoting restorative justice. Both of these goals are consistent with Catholic social teaching, particularly the emphasis on human dignity, human flourishing, and rehabilitation for those who have committed serious crime.

The folks at CMN invited me to submit this Advent reflection for their website. I wish you all a prayerful and peaceful remainder of Advent.
